I began caving in 1971 at the ripe old age of 12, and have been involved in caving most of my life. I began caving in the St. Louis area with the now defunct Hondo Grotto, and started an Explorer Post to get underground when the grotto group disbanded. I’ve been a member of the Meramec Valley Grotto since 1986 where I held many positions including VP, Caver Editor, Treasurer, and general mayhem-maker.

Additionally to MVG, I’m a member of numerous grottos since moving to KTAG, most notably I’m active in the Nashville Grotto where I’ve served as Treasurer and Membership since my move to Nashville in 2019.

I’ve Co-Chaired and assisted in many MVORs over the last 38 years, Co-Managed the 2023 SERA and SERA Winter Business Meeting that year, and well as volunteering extensively at the last 2 NSS Conventions, as well as the upcoming one in Indiana in 2026. I’m an incoming NSS Board of Governors member.
