Monthly Cave Survey Game

This is our monthly fake cave that was created just for you to practice keeping book for survey. You need some Blank Survey Paper which you can print out or buy from your favorite caving retailer. You will also need a protractor like the Cave Compass or a DIY one like the Therion Protractor. You can also forgo paper methods and use a digital tool like TopoDroid. It also adds descriptions of the cave passage, so that you can draw features like slopes, rocks, columns, seeps, etc; so you made need a reference to the NSS Cave Map Symbols.

Our maps are done From Station Bisector. Which means the LRUD's are not always at 90 degrees to the next shot, but instead the difference between the last and next shot are averaged to measure LRUD's.

You can learn more about survey at our survey page. We will be sharing our maps and asking questions at the OBG Facebook Group.
